Beautiful Storm by Katherine Jay

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

This enemies to lovers love sorry sucked me in and held me close! I really loved it. Amelia and Luke FOREVER.

Amelia is a documentary director who just got divorced from a singer, Prestin, and is looking to “get back out there” with encouragement from her bff Hayley. One night at a bar, they run into Amelia’s childhood frenemy and star football player, Luke Bennett. Amelia decides to have her first one night stand, because at least she knows she hates Luke anyway, right?

Only, Luke’s team ends up in a documentary Amelia is directing at the same time they find out Amelia is pregnant with Luke’s baby. Yikes! And by yikes I mean delightful, because it’s all delightfully messy.

This book is told in dual first person POVs and I really liked both characters. I think it’s especially hard to pull off enemies to lovers because generally speaking whatever drove the two characters apart can have low stakes. But in Beautiful Storm, the stakes are high enough that we see the hesitancy and understand it.

I really loved these characters and this book, way more than I thought I would! It’s also very steamy. Definitely will be checking out Katherine Jay’s other books (or is it really Katherine Joy? Read this book to get the reference!) considering I devoured this. The writing is really good and I think romance readers will love this.

Thanks to Katherine Jay and Hambright PR for the gifted copy. I’m struggling to not scrap my TBR right now and instead just read the rest of the series!
